1. American Express® Aeroplan®* Card

The new American Express® Aeroplan®* Card will offer 2 points per dollar on eligible purchases made directly with Air Canada®* and Air Canada Vacations®*along with an accelerated 1.5 points per dollar spent on eligible Dining and Food Delivery purchases, and 1 point per dollar on everything else. No other co-branded Aeroplan Card of its class will offer as many points on travel and dining, making it a boon for both foodies who order in or eat out and frequent flyers alike.

The advantage of a Charge Card

The new American Express® Aeroplan®* Card is a charge card. For all intents and purposes, a charge card functions exactly the same way as a conventional credit card with two notable exceptions: charge cards don’t have a pre-set credit limit and you’re expected to pay off your balance each month.

Income requirement

American Express’ new Aeroplan Cards will be within reach of more Canadians.

While similar rewards cards often come with income requirements mandating you must earn at least $60,000 or more just to be considered eligible to apply, neither of the new Cards from American Express have any income requirements whatsoever. You’ll just need to be the age of majority (either 18 or 19 depending on your province) and be a Canadian resident with a Canadian credit file to be considered eligible.

Unique Additional Card options
