Apple Pay launched in Canada on Tuesday for certain American Express cardmembers.
The service will be available for eligible Canadian consumer, small business, and corporate cards issued by American Express. As we reported earlier this month, it won’t be available to those who have an American Express card issued by Scotiabank.
Apple Pay allows American Express cardmembers to pay in store with compatible Apple devices at participating contactless merchants, or for purchases within participating apps that accept the card. A number of stores such as Indigo, McDonald’s, Petro-Canada, and Tim Hortons accept contactless payments from American Express cards.
