5 Toronto condo launches to watch this spring

Birds are singing and the bees, at least here at the BuzzBuzzHive, are buzzing. It must be spring, which means, you guessed it, condominium launches! Unsurprisingly for a market quickly becoming one of the condo capitals of the world, Toronto is going to see a full slate of projects launching in the next few months – many of which look tremendously exciting. A full list of new condos launching in Toronto can be found in our forum (where we`ve counted at least 30 projects soon to launch), but we thought we`d pass along some crib notes on a handful of our favourites.

King + Condos is due to launch soon and promises to further enliven a neighbourhood of Toronto that is quickly becoming a big draw for those who know the city well: King East. This baby`s going to rise to 17-storeys at the corner of King Street East and Sherbourne Street and sounds like it`ll attract a design-savvy, downtown set that wants to capitalize on the myriad neighbourhood amenities without paying the King Street West sticker prices.

Staying on the east side of Yonge Street for a moment, Oxygen Maisonettes and Flats has us very intrigued. The `boutique` building will be 14-storeys and 50-units at George and Shuter Streets and will reportedly feature 2-storey layouts full of Italian-imported finishes and cutting-edge kitchen design. Stay tuned for details on this project in the weeks ahead.

Exhibit condo TorontoAt Bloor West, right across the street from the ROM, is a project that consistently draws the most attention on our site: Exhibit Residences. The soon-to-be-iconic design of this condo has four glass cubes piled one on top of another in an elegantly skewed fashion; if there`s a building that can meet the ROM`s crystal on its own terms, while still being conversant with the rest of the neighbourhood, this is it. Luxury is the keyword here.

Neither is the Yorkville Condominiums a stranger to the finer things. Located a few blocks to the northeast of Exhibit, this chic 31-storey condo and townhome project will boast all the bells and whistles, including a stellar amenity lineup that includes a yoga studio, a pool, a rooftop terrace, and a wine cellar – cheers!

For those that love being near Toronto but can do without the noise and constant action of the core, there`s Galleria in the City Condominium, located in charming Pickering. Details are still scarce but for value and range of suit layouts and sizes, this project looks like a can`t miss. Plus, when the countryside beckons, you`ll have a head start on the pack!

Remember, with a development scene as busy and competitive as Toronto`s, there`s truly a project that suits everyone`s needs – and there`s never a time when that scene is more vibrant than in spring.
