Ratehub.ca Summer Mortgage Giveaway 2026 Contest (The “Contest”)

 1. Draws & Prize

Ratehub will conduct two draws as follows:

• One draw on August 24, 2026 drawing the names of two July Entrants; and
• One draw on September 23, 2026 drawing the names of two August Entrants.

Each Entrant selected in a draw, subject to the Eligibility section and other restrictions below, will each be declared a “Winner” and will be eligible for a Prize.

Before being awarded a Prize, each Winner must have correctly answered without assistance of any kind, whether mechanical or otherwise, a mathematical skill-testing question within the time frame specified, if any, by Ratehub, which will be administered by phone or email.

For all Prizes, the Winner will be contacted by phone or email at Ratehub’s sole discretion at the phone number or email address provided by the Entrant. Only the selected Entrants will be notified. If a Winner cannot be reached after three (3) attempts, does not respond within the required time, the skill-testing question is not correctly answered within the time frame specified, or the Winner does not otherwise comply with these Terms and Conditions, the selected entry will be deemed void and an alternate Winner may be selected in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.

In addition to the above, and prior to being declared an official Winner, each Winner may be required to sign and return a Declaration and Release Form described below within the time frame specified by Ratehub.

Each Prize is a cash payment equal to the lesser of: (i) the Winner’s first monthly mortgage payment, and (ii) $5,000. The cash payment will be issued by Interac e-Transfer following Ratehub’s verification of the Winner’s eligibility and satisfaction of these Terms and Conditions in Ratehub’s sole discretion. Any further costs and expenses not specifically described as included in the Prizes (including but not limited to claiming and using the prize) are the responsibility of the Winner.

2. Entries

No purchase is necessary to enter the contest. There are two ways to enter the contest and become an official Contest entrant (an “Entrant”):

1. Every borrower who has a mortgage that was brokered by Ratehub.ca mortgage brokerage, operated by Ratehub Inc., and that is funded during the month of July or August 2026 will automatically become an Entrant, subject to these Terms and Conditions. Entrants whose mortgages fund from July 1 to July 31, 2026 will be deemed “July Entrants” and Entrants whose mortgages fund from August 1 to August 31, 2026 will be deemed “August Entrants”;
   and
2. Every person who submits a Written Submission. Herein, a “Written Submission” means a handwritten submission consisting of at least 800 words describing the benefits of retaining a qualified mortgage broker to find a mortgage. Written submissions must be mailed to:

Entrants whose Written Submissions are received from July 1 to July 31, 2026 will be deemed “July Entrants” and Entrants whose Written Submissions are received from August 1 to August 31, 2026 will be deemed “August Entrants”. Entrants entering by Written Submission must provide contact information. Written Submissions that are deemed offensive, harmful, defamatory, or in violation of federal or provincial human rights laws, or that infringe the privacy or intellectual property of any third party will not be accepted and the entry will be forfeited by the person submitting the Written Submission. Responses should not include personal information of any person other than the entrant, brands/logos of any third party, or attachments. Ratehub will determine whether the Written Submission complies with these Terms and Conditions in its sole discretion.

3. Eligibility

YOU MUST HAVE REACHED THE AGE OF MAJORITY TO ENTER THIS CONTEST. PERSONS RESIDING IN JURISDICTIONS OTHER THAN CANADA ARE NOT ELIGIBLE TO WIN ANY PRIZES IN CONNECTION WITH THIS CONTEST. NO PURCHASE IS REQUIRED TO ENTER BUT YOU MUST BECOME AN ENTRANT THROUGH THE WRITTEN SUBMISSION METHOD ABOVE.

To be eligible for the Contest, you acknowledge and agree that:

1. you have read and understood these Terms and Conditions in their entirety;
2. you are eligible to participate in the Contest; and
3. you agree to abide by these Terms and Conditions, which are final and binding on all matters pertaining to the Contest.

Employees, representatives, and agents (and those with whom they are domiciled) of Ratehub and its affiliates and subsidiaries are not eligible to participate in this Contest. An individual may only be an Entrant once. For the avoidance of doubt, a July Entrant entering by Written Submission in July is not eligible to submit a Written Submission in August.  

4. Declaration and Release Form

All the Winners will be required to sign and return a full release and indemnity form, ("Declaration and Release Form") within the time stipulated by Ratehub, stating that he/she has read and understood these Terms and Conditions, grants all consents and authorizes Ratehub to use his/her entry, name, city of residence, photograph, interview (if Ratehub wishes to conduct an interview each selected entrant must also consent to be interviewed by Ratehub), likeness, comments and voices in connection with any promotion or publicity at no additional compensation to the Winner, beyond the awarding of the Prize.

In the event of non-compliance with these requirements (as applicable) or with these Terms and Conditions, or if a Prize notification or award of a Prize is returned undeliverable, Ratehub shall have the right to disqualify the Winner, and randomly select from remaining eligible Entrants an alternate Winner and shall be fully and completely released and discharged from any liability or responsibility in this regard.

Only when a selected entrant has complied with all of the above requirements will he/she be declared a Winner.

5. Odds of Winning

The odds of winning a Prize are dependent on the number of eligible Entrants.

6. Limitations of Liability

Ratehub will not be liable for:

1. any incomplete, incorrect or inaccurate information;
2. the theft, destruction or unauthorized access to, or alteration of, Entrant’s entry;
3. any problems with, or technical malfunctions of, telephone networks or lines, computer online systems, servers or providers, computer equipment, software, viruses or bugs;
4. any failure of any email to be received by or from Ratehub for any reason;
5. late, delayed, damaged, misdirected, destroyed, lost, illegible, incomplete, incorrect, fraudulent, or stolen entries which will be deemed void; or
6. any lost or undelivered Written Submissions that are not received in time to be counted.

7. Miscellaneous

By entering this Contest, all entrants consent to the collection, use and disclosure of their personal information by Ratehub for the purposes of running the Contest or for any other purpose to which entrants consent.

Once submitted, entries become the exclusive property of Ratehub and will not be returned.

Personally identifiable information received will be used to verify eligibility and award prizes, for any purpose to which entrants consent, or as otherwise indicated on the Contest Website, and will be collected, used and stored by Ratehub in accordance with its Privacy Policy.

This Contest is subject to all applicable Federal, Provincial and Municipal laws, and is void where prohibited. By entering the Contest, entrants agree to abide by these Terms and Conditions and agree that the decisions of Ratehub are final and binding in all matters relating to this Contest.

The Prizes must be accepted as awarded and no transfer or substitution of the Prizes will be permitted except as expressly provided in these Terms and Conditions or at Ratehub’s sole discretion. Ratehub reserves the right to substitute any Prize with a prize of equal or greater value if for any reason the Prize cannot be awarded as contemplated in these Terms and Conditions. Proof of sending an entry will not be deemed proof of receipt.

Any attempt to deliberately damage any web site or to undermine the legitimate operation of this Contest is a violation of criminal and civil laws, and should such an attempt be made, Ratehub reserves the right to seek remedies and damages to the fullest extent permitted by law, including criminal prosecution.

Entries are subject to verification and will be declared invalid if they are: illegible, mechanically reproduced, mutilated, forged, falsified, altered or tampered with in any way or do not otherwise comply with these Terms and Conditions.

Ratehub reserves the right in its sole and absolute discretion to cancel, withdraw, amend, terminate or suspend this Contest in whole or in part at any time without prior notice or obligation for any reason.
