Previously our mortgage was with TD for 20 years and I was very reluctant to leave but their rates were still a bit high. Research showed that Ratehub offered a 5yr closed rate that was lower than any other bank or broker service by 1%. I wasn't expecting much dealing with an online service but was surprised and pleased with the service provided by our Ratehub mortgage broker, Mitul Patel. Communication was clear and prompt both through email and phone despite the time difference between Ontario and BC. The overall process was straightforward with a checklist of documents required and instructions how to submit through the website. Best of all, our bank discharge fee AND lawyer fee were covered by Ratehub. They even arranged for the lawyer to make a house call to sign all the papers. The process does take some time so don't leave your renewal to the last minute. Then once everything was finalized we received access to a web portal to track and manage our mortgage. We even received a follow up phone call to ensure we understood the payment and interest info and frequency over the term of the mortgage.
