We’ve all been waiting for it and it’s nearly here.
Tangerine—the semi-new, very-orange financial institution—is releasing its first credit card and we’re excited. The Tangerine Money-Back MasterCard is one of the most flexible cash back cards we’ve seen, and here’s why:

First of all, the card allows a solid 2% cash back in multiple categories. What’s amazing is that the card allows you to choose two categories of your choice! These categories are:
  • Drug Store
  • Entertainment
  • Furniture
  • Gas
  • Groceries
  • Hotels and Motels
  • Home improvement
  • Parking
  • Recurring bills
  • Restaurants

This is unlike anything we’ve seen, and allows customers to tailor their cards to their lives, (which is awesome).

It also has other perks:

  • 1.5% foreign exchange fees, whereas most cards are 2.5%
  • no limit on the money-back rewards you can earn
  • no annual fee
  • Purchase Assurance: 90-day insurance on purchases for theft, loss, damage
The card is not yet available, but is getting a lot of hype (and for good reason). Here it is in comparison to other cash back credit cards:
SimplyCash American Express
  • 1.25% on all purchases
  • First six months/$250 cap: 5% gas, groceries, dining
MBNA Smart Cash Platinum Plus
  • 2% on gas and groceries
  • First six months: 5% gas, groceries
  • 1% on all purchases
