The Steinbach Credit Union Seniors Regular Savings Account offers competitive interest rates. There’s no minimum balance required and there are tiered rates on balances of more than $100,000. The highest interest rate associated with this account can be earned on balances of $250,000 or more. One free withdrawal is included with this account, as well as one additional withdrawal or transfer. You must be 60 or older to open the Steinbach Credit Union Seniors Regular Savings Account. Note that interest is calculated monthly but paid annually.

Steinbach Credit Union’s Regular Savings Account features one of the highest interest rates across savings account providers in Canada. However, the interest rate is tiered so account balances of $250,000 or more will earn the highest interest rate while the rate offered on balances of $0 to $100,000 is still quite competitive. If you choose to bank with Steinbach Credit Union’s high-interest savings account, you won’t pay any monthly fees but transaction fees will apply. Interest is paid annually.

The Steinbach Credit Union Seniors Monthly Savings Account has no monthly fees, and includes one withdrawal plus one withdrawal or transfer. Although the Seniors Monthly Savings Account pays a lower interest rate than the Seniors Regular Savings Account, interest on the Seniors Monthly Savings Account is paid monthly rather than annually.

While the Steinbach Credit Union Seniors PLAN 24 Account pays the lowest interest rate amongst SCU savings accounts, the Seniors PLAN 24 Account doesn’t have a monthly fee and interest is paid monthly. Moreover, this account is only available for those aged 60 and over. You’re allowed to make one free withdrawal and one additional withdrawal or transfer before transaction charges apply.
