Great card so far. Easy to use. Saved us money on luggage on our first trip to Newfoundland withour family. Also saved us money on our next trips Saskatchewan in Steptember and perhaps a trip to Florida in the winter. Recommended to us by our friends and we are very happy we followed this advice. Hope to have good value from it for many years to come. Love West Jet airlines.

This low fee WestJet RBC Mastercard is a must-have for fans of the Canadian airline, offering travel perks and rewards for WestJet enthusiasts. It’s a great option for travelers looking to maximize their WestJet experience and earn rewards for future flights.

Pros

Earn WestJet rewards: You can earn WestJet dollars on every purchase, which can be used to pay for WestJet flights and vacation packages
Annual companion voucher: Each year, receive a Companion Voucher allowing a second passenger to travel for a reduced fare on the same flight itinerary.
Travel insurance coverage: This car includes various types of travel insurance and purchase insurance which is uncommon for a card with a low annual fee

Cons

Limited airline options: The WestJet RBC Mastercard is tailored specifically to WestJet customers and their select partner airlines. If you prefer flying with other airlines or want more flexibility in redeeming rewards, this card may not be the best fit.
Poor rewards earning: The earn rate is quite low, offering only a 1% cash back on most of your purchases. There are many no-fee credit cards that can get you the same (if not better) rewards on your purchases!

Once approved for the WestJet RBC Mastercard, please allow 4-6 weeks after the first purchase transaction date for the 50 welcome WestJet dollars to appear in your WestJet Rewards account, accessible at westjet.com/account. To be eligible for the additional 50 WestJet dollars (“Additional WestJet dollars”) you must apply for the WestJet RBC Mastercard and be approved by Royal Bank of Canada. The Additional WestJet dollars will be awarded to you if a total of $1,000 or more in qualifying net purchases and pre-authorized bill payment transactions (“Qualifying Transactions”) are posted to your WestJet RBC Mastercard account within the first 3 months of your account open date, provided your account is open and in good standing at the time you reach $1,000 in Qualifying Transactions. Please allow 4-6 weeks after this requirement is fulfilled for the Additional WestJet dollars to be awarded to your WestJet Rewards account. Qualifying Transactions exclude cash advances (balance transfers, cash-like transactions and bill payments that are not pre-authorized charges that you set up with a merchant), interest charges, fees, and any credits for returns or adjustments.
